In 2021, a routine check-up picked up something no one wants to hear. I was fortunate: it was caught early, and I will spend the rest of my life grateful for that appointment. It is why I will never stop encouraging people to book theirs. Early screening saves lives, and it saved mine.

During my radiation therapy, my oncologist stressed how important it was to keep the treated area hydrated and moisturised. So I did what any formulation chemist with 25 years in personal care would do: I read the ingredient list on the cream I was given. I knew immediately that skin going through so much deserved better.

I spent months studying treatment-related skin stress, and researching natural ingredients that support the skin's barrier, hold moisture in, soothe irritation and calm the look of redness. The result was a combination I had never seen before: postbiotics, upcycled bilberry seed oil and Tasmanian pepperberry. My own skin improved so noticeably that nurses and doctors began asking what I was using.
